Shooting Ourselves in the Foot: Power

The message I want to continue promoting our society, and on behalf of our company, Four Our United Republic, is caring for ourselves, helping thy neighbor and being self-sufficient! Like him or dislike him, Ben Carson is correct when he said, "We've been conditioned to think that only politicians can solve our problems. But at some point, maybe we will wake up and recognize that it was politicians who created our problems.” All one has to do is research some history since our founding, and you will find the ever-expanding presence of a federal government that, in most cases, was not working with the best interests of the American people in mind. They were working to increase the federal government power, and having the American people rely on them even more.

A quick reminder on what the federal government’s jobs are and should be limited to;

1.) The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts, and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts, and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

*Unconstitutional Amendment*: Amendment XVI (Ratified February 3, 1913.)

The Congress shall have the Power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

2.) To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;

4.) To establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

5.) To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

14.) To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

15.) To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

16.) To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

17.) To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;

18.) To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

To the readers, this is it! These are the responsibilities of the federal government. The Founders stated that any responsibility not listed here, need to be managed by the state and local governments and the people.

At this moment and for the foreseeable future, our nation and the world are dealing with COVID-19. This virus is having a significant impact on everyday lives and the economy. To be honest, this virus isn't as bad in regards to majority of the population. If you are already sick, elderly, and have pre-existing conditions that impact your immune system, and especially respiratory issues, please take extra precautions, keep yourself clean and try to implement in your lives social distancing. Keep yourself safe! Now what could keep our fellow people safer, are masks, gloves, and other healthcare-related items, from medication to equipment. We are now seeing that our manufacturing capabilities cannot keep up with this demand. This is the sad outcome of decades of poor governing and management by our federal government. Jobs 1, 3 and 8 are tied to the situation we are now experiencing. Our very own federal government is responsible for allowing companies that started following the Friedman Doctrine and the teachings of McKinney & Company to ship almost all our manufacturing capabilities overseas. This shows the government still is in bed with companies to make a profit over the best interest of the American people. The scary part is, even our politicians forget what they have allowed and done themselves and expect our manufacturing abilities to rise to the occasion and meet the demands of particular products currently needed during this pandemic.

A letter sent by 57 House Democrats being led by Rep. Andy Levin stated that, "During World War II, our country adapted to the demands of the time to produce mass quantities of bombers, tanks, and many smaller items needed to save democracy and freedom in the world. We know that the demands of this time are, and we must act now to meet these demands." Well, first off, Andy, if correct, we met those demands during World War II because we already had the industrial/manufacturing infrastructure to mass-produce what we needed for the war. However, people like Andy that sit on their marble thrones in Washington allowed this infrastructure to be decimated. Over the decades, the moving of major manufacturing to go overseas, and now they want the much smaller and limited manufacturing capability of the United States to flip a switch like was done in the 40s and perform the same way? This is not possible. The majority of our material items in this country come from overseas. So who exactly has all these factories idly sitting waiting to be switched on sitting idle waiting to be turned on to mass-produce what we need?

Some will say that this is not the time to argue politics and who's right or wrong, that the federal government needs to step up and help. Unfortunately, with this argument, you will be repeating the same cycle over and over again. The Feds don't help; all they do is create more problems. The federal government has gotten so big and bureaucratic that nothing can get done. It comes down to us, helping ourselves and one another. The argument that FOUR is making, that we can unite and take care of each other and push the federal government back into its place and ensure they are only to perform the limited jobs they are supposed to do. If you are still unsure, look back at the Civil Rights movement. The government knew what was going on, yet they were moving slowly on helping the cause of African Americans in this country. Yet once a giant united front was created and went on the move, marching through cities and states, protesting and standing toe to toe against discrimination and racism, the federal government had no other choice but to pass and implement the Civil Rights Act. What this shows is, by taking it upon ourselves to improve society, by uniting and creating an unbreakable movement, we can accomplish feats of great magnitude. We can force change, and that includes force change with the federal government.

The other part of the argument FOUR is attempting to make is that if we could better the situation for millions of Americans, we improve all our conditions. So with Mission One being to assist in paying off student loans, if we can create a massive support movement, FOUR, and others that are working to accomplish the same goal, we free millions from this struggle. Now what does paying off student loan debt have to do with manufacturing abilities. Well those no longer struggling with this debt, are free to create their own businesses. Think about it, do you think there are no people currently thinking that what is needed are more manufacturers of respiratory masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and other items that are required? Yet they do not have the financial freedom to create a company like this and can't afford to purchase or lease a location to begin manufacturing these products. FOUR's other mission is to promote entrepreneurship in our nation. By supporting current and future entrepreneurs, we can ensure that we don't have to rely on the government to bail us out to enact the Defense Production Act in an attempt to increase the manufacturing of said items to meet demand and so on. There is more at stake than just these items if we don't support ourselves, there could be people out there that have a blueprint or idea to detect better such viruses we are fighting currently. This kind of technology would allow us to identify the infected faster for quicker quarantine to prevent the spread. Don't believe that a small startup or entrepreneur could accomplish this, and only big pharma could?

How about a self-sanitizing door handle? Created by Sun Ming Wong aged 17 and King Pong Li 18, can destroy 99.8% of all bacteria and viruses and costs around $13. Or how about, Jack Andraka at the time aged 17 created an early pancreatic cancer detector now in lab trials. These are teenagers making such advancements. Now, what do you think is possible for older individuals, possibly have gone through some education in sectors that have these ideas and inventions waiting to be discovered and released? It's not as far-fetched as some may make it sound. It’s truly in our grasp to accomplish many great things on our own as a united movement, then to sit and wait for the government to take care of us all. In the end, it is up to us to band together, support entrepreneurs that want to create a rebirth movement of our manufacturing abilities. With this kind of support, we would have the ability to force companies like Apple to bring back their manufacturing to the United States. While at the same time, reminding the federal government we do not need them and that they should reserve themselves to the limited responsibilities we give them. However, to get this moving, it all starts with assisting our fellow Americans, helping to pay off the student loan debt. Assist them in being free of this struggle and allow countless individuals to pursue their dreams and interests so our nation and the world could be better off.

There is no short supply of examples when it comes to crony capitalism and horrible executive leadership. Executive leadership positions are important for a company, but are they truly more important
